Black circle at the base of the toilet, you only get rid of it if you do this: it becomes new again
The bathroom is one of the rooms that everyone cleans at least once a day, especially when there are a lot of people in the house. On the other hand, it cannot be done any other way because germs and bacteria proliferate and cause bad smells and much more.
However, there are still areas that are not properly cleaned, sometimes stained, impossible to return to white or the original colour, other times smelly. It is not necessary to commit to a thousand products and a lot of effort, the result will probably always be the same. Buying powerful and aggressive products is not the right choice, in fact it may be precisely the wrong one to make. These products are not only bad for your health, but in the long run they end up ruining the bathroom furniture, even if they do not remove the stains.
Here are some common bathroom stains.
Among the stains that are difficult to remove, there is the mould that usually appears in the corners of the shower and in the joints of the floor. Then there are those that form on the base of the toilet and in general on all sanitary ware. In particular, there is the very annoying black circle . This happens above all because when you go to clean the bathroom you focus mainly on the surface and the inside, neglecting some parts, which then turn yellow or even black. When you realize that the base of the toilet is about to turn black, it is best to act immediately without wasting any more time, because it is surely a build-up of dirt, which could however also hide mould. Which is dangerous.
Mold or dirt gets trapped at the base of the toilet, because silicone is often applied there to make the bowl stick to the floor. To prevent mold from forming around the silicone over time, it is a good idea to clean it carefully every time you wash the toilet, taking care not to use abrasive products. These could loosen the silicone completely or partially, causing serious problems later on.
Some miracle products
To remove black stains from the base of the toilet , you can use many products that we have at home, one of these is alcohol vinegar, which can remove mold or limescale, the same goes for other sanitary fixtures, including the shower.
All you have to do is pour a cup of vinegar into a spray bottle and spray the product directly onto the encrusted or mouldy area . The solution should sit for at least an hour, after which you can remove all dirt or mould with a toothbrush and then rinse with a cloth that has been wrung out as much as possible. Along with alcohol vinegar, there is baking soda, which unlike vinegar can also be used on floors, especially if they are made of stone or marble. First, prepare a thick paste using baking soda and water. Then spread this paste over the bathroom fixtures, let it sit, rub it and finally rinse it to remove all residue.
Lemon peroxide and hydrogen
Then there is the lemon, filter the juice of 2 lemons. Add a glass of vinegar, then pour it into a spray bottle and spray it on the black parts . At this point leave it to act, then once the dirt has softened, scrub with a brush or sponge and rinse.
We continue with hydrogen peroxide, which we must pay special attention to because it fades colors. It is used in small quantities, only on tiles that allow its use. Then, distribute the product around the dark circle, then rub and rinse well.
The mixture that works miracles: soap, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide
Alternatively, the miracle mixture, composed of two tablespoons of liquid soap, two tablespoons of bicarbonate and one and a half tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide. All these ingredients must be mixed well, until obtaining a single, thick mixture. If it is too liquid, you can add a little baking soda. The mixture is spread directly on the area and left to act overnight.
After the night, gently rub the dirt away without applying too much pressure. It is advisable not to rub the silicone because otherwise the integrity and stability of the toilet or sanitary ware in general will be compromised. The solutions can be used to clean the entire bathroom, remove stubborn dirt and perfume the environment.

The benefits of acorns extend far beyond their nutritional value, encompassing environmental sustainability, economic savings, and a reconnection with nature’s rhythms. As we turn to the practical aspects of harvesting and preparing acorns, we embark on a journey not just to rediscover an ancient food source but to embrace a lifestyle that values the bounty nature provides. Stay tuned for the next segment, where we will explore how to unlock the edible potential of acorns, ensuring they can be enjoyed safely and deliciously.
Harvesting and Selecting Acorns
The first step in utilizing acorns is gathering them, a task best undertaken in the early autumn when they are ripe and plentiful. Look for acorns that are firm, without any holes or cracks, as these imperfections may indicate the presence of insects or rot. Green acorns are immature and should be left to ripen, while those that are brown and detach easily from their caps are ready for use. It’s a sustainable practice to gather from the ground, leaving enough acorns for wildlife and the regeneration of the oak forest.
Processing Acorns to Remove Tannins
Shelling: Begin by removing the acorns from their shells. This can be done manually or with the aid of a nutcracker. It’s a labor-intensive step but crucial for accessing the nut meat within.
Leaching Out the Tannins: The most critical step in making acorns edible is leaching out the tannins, which are compounds that give raw acorns their bitter taste and can be harmful in large quantities. There are two primary methods for leaching: cold and hot leaching.
Cold Leaching: This method involves soaking the shelled acorns in cold water. The water should be changed when it becomes discolored, approximately every 12 to 24 hours, until the water remains clear, indicating that the tannins have been removed. This process can take several days to a week, depending on the acorn variety.
Hot Leaching: Hot leaching is faster than cold leaching but requires more active management. Boil the acorns in water, and change the water when it turns dark, repeating this process until the water remains mostly clear. This method can remove the tannins in a matter of hours.
Drying: After leaching, the acorns need to be dried to prevent mold and prepare them for grinding. Spread the acorns on a baking sheet and dry them in an oven at a low temperature, in a dehydrator, or air-dry them in a sunny, well-ventilated area.
Making Acorn Flour
Once dried, the acorns can be ground into flour using a food processor, blender, or hand grinder. The resulting flour should be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place or frozen for extended storage. Acorn flour can be used as a substitute for traditional flours in baking, offering a nutty flavor and nutritional boost to bread, pancakes, and other baked goods.
Incorporating acorns into our diets is a journey back to the roots of human sustenance, a nod to the wisdom of our ancestors who relied on the natural world for their dietary needs. This journey is not just about adding a new ingredient to our pantry but about embracing a deeper connection with nature, understanding the cycles of growth and renewal, and appreciating the abundance that surrounds us. As we integrate acorns into our meals, we partake in a tradition that spans centuries and cultures, celebrating the oak tree’s gift and its enduring significance to both the environment and our health. Let the humble acorn inspire you to explore, innovate, and appreciate the simple, yet profound, pleasures of foraging and feasting from the land.
Horse Chestnut: The Strongest Natural Remedy for Swollen Legs and More…
Swollen legs are more than just an inconvenience — they can be painful, heavy, and a sign of deeper circulatory issues. While many turn to synthetic treatments, nature offers a powerful alternative: Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum). Known for centuries in traditional medicine and now backed by modern research, this tree holds one of the most potent remedies for leg swelling, poor circulation, and beyond.
🌰 What Is Horse Chestnut?
Horse Chestnut is a tree native to Europe, recognizable by its spiky green fruits and glossy brown seeds. These seeds, often called conkers, are not just for childhood games — they’re packed with a natural compound called aescin, which is the key to this plant’s medicinal power.
💡 Why Horse Chestnut Is So Effective for Swollen Legs
Swelling in the legs often stems from poor blood flow and leaky blood vessels. Horse Chestnut works in three powerful ways:
✅ 1. Strengthens Blood Vessels
Aescin increases the tone of veins and capillaries, making them less prone to leaking fluid into surrounding tissues.
✅ 2. Improves Circulation
It helps blood return to the heart more effectively, reducing the feeling of heavy, tired legs.
✅ 3. Reduces Inflammation
Horse Chestnut has anti-inflammatory effects, which soothe swelling and discomfort in the legs and feet.
These effects make it especially beneficial for:
Chronic venous insufficiency
Varicose veins
Edema from standing or sitting too long
Swollen ankles during hot weather or travel
🌿 Other Health Benefits of Horse Chestnut
While swollen legs are its primary claim to fame, horse chestnut also offers several other benefits:
Relieves Hemorrhoids: Thanks to its vein-tightening effects.
Reduces Varicose Veins: Helps shrink swollen, twisted veins.
Eases Leg Cramps and Restlessness: Often linked to poor circulation.
Improves Skin Health: By promoting better blood flow to tissues.
Supports Lymphatic Drainage: Can ease sluggish lymph flow and puffiness.
Anti-Bruising Effect: Strengthens capillaries and helps bruises heal faster.
